Airbus question
Airbus question

In Parliament today I criticised the UK Government for its failure’to address the concerns of businesses over the prospect of Britain leaving the European Union without a deal.

Last week aerospace giant Airbus warned that it could pull out of the UK in the event of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit. The company employs 14,000 people at 25 sites across the UK, including 450 at its base in Newport.

In a question to Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, I said “Many of my constituents work for Airbus in Newport and in Filton (Bristol). Can I reiterate to the Minister that the Government’s failure to address the issues raised by Airbus on Brexit means uncertain times for the workforce – and that includes the 500 plus apprenticeships the company has offered in Wales over the last five years. This is about jobs for our young people.”
