HMS Severn's homecoming visit to Newport

It was a pleasure to join Newport City Council leader Cllr Debbie Wilcox and the Mayor and Mayoress of Newport at a reception on HMS Severn this weekend for the ship's 'homecoming' visit to Newport.

HMS Severn - which has been affiliated with Newport since 2003 - was returning home after a successful eight-month deployment across the Caribbean, where she provided security and reassurance to the British Overseas Territories and dependencies.

The ship has travelled over 30,000 miles whilst away, visiting 29 ports across 20 different countries and islands.
