Carers Week 14 June 2010
As the MP for Newport East, I’m constantly meeting and listening to carers and I see it as one of the most important parts of my job to raise their concerns in Parliament. Carers do an outstanding job, offering personal, dedicated care that outside bodies would struggle to provide. However, due to their quiet dedication, carers often do not get the support they deserve for the tremendous work they do. That’s why supporting Carers Week is so important, because not only does it highlight the great work they do, but it also educates us on the things they miss out on, that we take for granted, and how they need more of our support.
