MP Welcomes Pre-games Training Announcement

Jessica Morden MP for Newport East today welcomed the announcement by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Para-Olympic Games that the Newport International Sports Village in the Newport East constituency would feature in the 2012 pre-games training Camp Guide. The guide launched today will feature a wide range of high quality sport facilities from across the country where teams or individual athletes can use to prepare and acclimatise for the Games.

Jessica Morden said "Its great news that the facilities like the Newport International Sports Village have been included as potential training camps for the Olympic Games. We have some excellent sporting facilities in Newport and it's a wonderful opportunity for us to capitalise locally on the benefits of London hosting the 2012 Olympics."
