Police Bravery Awards 2016

It was a pleasure to meet up with PC Phillip Williams in Parliament this week.

PC Williams - who has served with neighbourhood, response and crime teams across Gwent, including in Caldicot and Rogiet - has just been awarded a Police Bravery Award for his outstanding actions on duty in November 2014. Arriving at an extremely isolated murder scene, PC Williams put the safety of others before his own in arresting the offender while waiting for help to arrive at the scene.

This sort of selfless action in the face of danger typifies the risks our police force take to keep us safe, and we owe PC Williams a huge debt of gratitude for his continued service to our community.
