Today I pressed the UK Transport Minister on when he will publish the date of the public consultation on the future of the Severn Bridges.

I have met with businesses, bridge staff and commuters and all of them are saying we need to know what is going to happen.  It is crazy that we are potentially less than 2 years away from the end of the current concession and the Government has still failed to give a date for the consultation, meaning decisions about the future management of the bridges is still unclear. 

This is despite the fact that the closure of the Severn Tunnel will be increasing the traffic over the Severn Bridges and this may well bring an earlier end to the concession.
