It was a pleasure to be at the Caerleon premier last Friday of an excellent new local film about Newport’s famous suffragette, Lady Rhondda.  The film, produced by Winding Snake Production Company, was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and local schools including Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd were involved in the project.

Margaret Haig Thomas was not only a suffragette, she was also the first woman director of the Institute of Directors, publisher of Time and Tide Magazine, and on the board of numerous companies.  Hers is a story that deserves to be told and retold, and it was wonderful to enjoy the film with the young people who were part of making this project such a success.
