Newport East residents are among thousands to have suffered due to problems with HMRC contractor Concentrix.

Concentrix was employed by HMRC to cut tax credit fraud and overpayment but the firm have been accused of unjustly ending the tax credits of thousands of people across the UK.

An urgent question was discussed in Parliament yesterday, here is the statement in Parliament.   Constituents have been in touch because they have had unacceptable delays and experienced bad decision making which have caused them stress and financial hardship anxiety.

We have raised these cases with the Government, and today Ministers have given assurances that they will step in and HMRC staff will be redeployed to help Concentrix.

I am relieved that HMRC have announced they will not renew their contract with Concentrix, and I will continue to work hard to ensure that my constituents’ cases are resolved.

If any constituent is experiencing problems with their tax credits, please get in touch on 01633 841725 and we will do all we can to help.
