In Parliament today I renewed my call on Wales Office Ministers to intervene to improve cross-border rail services.

In Welsh Questions today I said “My constituents want to be able to access work in the South West of England. But despite it being claimed demand on services is going to grow and grow locally, there are still too few carriages, overcrowding, and unreliable rail services. Will the Minister personally talk to GWR about this?”

Transport links are key to a Severn growth strategy. I make no apology for repeatedly raising rail overcrowding and lack of capacity. We must get this right for those commuting now -; especially as demand is only set to increase.
