I spoke out against UK Government cuts to legal aid during a Westminster Hall debate on public legal education this week.

Knowing your rights is one thing, and indeed a very good thing, but being enable to enforce them in a real court is what really matters. What the Government’s cuts to legal aid and court closures have in fact done is cut people’s ability to be able to do that.
