The UK Government’s announcement on the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon today is incredibly disappointing news for South Wales. This project has been more than five years in development. The pathfinder lagoon could have paved the way for future lagoons in Newport, as well as making Wales a world leader in this technology. There were many questions to the Secretary of State in Parliament today on his figures, and we’ll be closely scrutinising today’s statement in the days to come.
