It was fantastic to plant trees in Woodland Park with The Woodlanders on Saturday. This was part of the Queens Commonwealth Canopy project which is aiming to plant fifty thousand trees, as part of the network of global forest conservation initiatives to mark Her Majesty’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth. Thank you to the Woodland Trust for the trees.

It was also good to combine this with planting seeds in the new Poppy bed near Fforest Glade in Woodland Park. This is to commemorate all those in Maindee who have suffered through war and conflict and should provide a quiet area for reflection. This was funded by a grant from Maindee Unlimited for creative projects in Maindee.
