I fully support the South Wales Argus’ ‘We’re Backing Newport’ campaign to champion all that is great about our city in 2020. Newport is a wonderful place to live and bring up a family, and we have so much to celebrate and feel positive about. Newport has a vibrant cultural scene; a proud sporting legacy; a host of exciting small and growing businesses; world-class modern facilities like the International Convention Centre and the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales; upcoming regeneration in the city centre; and under-rated natural beauty on our doorstep with real gems like Newport Wetlands and Beechwood Park. Newport’s greatest strength is its people though, and we are blessed with a range of local groups and organisations who go above and beyond to bring our diverse communities together – many working on a voluntary basis.
