I’m supporting the call for urgent UK Government help for vital charities during the coronavirus outbreak.
Without support during this time of unprecedented strain many charities and community organisations – including those that provide specific, tailored support to vulnerable groups – face a worryingly uncertain future. I fully support the calls outlined in my Welsh Labour colleague Stephen Doughty MP’s letter, including immediate emergency funding for frontline charities helping in the fight against Covid-19, and a stabilisation fund for all charities to help them stay afloat during this pandemic.
The Government has talked up the role of charities and community organisations, but it needs to take serious action to help the sector in this hour of need.
