Covid debate

I took the opportunity in tonight’s general Covid debate to raise the issue of the lack of support for the 3 million excluded from government schemes and lack of a plan for those deemed by the Chancellor to be in ‘unviable’ jobs or professions, and the need for a Covid recovery plan to help young people. I also spoke about the general more cautious approach taken by Welsh Government First Minister Mark Drakeford which recent surveys of constituents show is appreciated in Newport East; and highlighted my support for Usdaw’s campaign for a legislation to protect shopworkers.
