“We will be staying in close contact with the unions and the Welsh Government – and backing their calls for TATA and the UK Government to step up and support our steel industry, locally at Llanwern and across Wales.

“Welsh steel can have a bright sustainable future by transitioning to a low-carbon steelmaking process. But this can only be achieved if UK Government ministers get serious about backing British steel.”
