Jessica Morden Jessica Morden - Labour MP for Newport East, Shadow Deputy Leader of the House of Commons and PPS to Keir Starmer

I raised the issue of access to benefits for terminally ill people in DWP Questions today.
Next month will mark the two-year anniversary of the DWP’s review of the welfare system for terminally ill people. Last July the minister said it would be published shortly and in response to my question today he said UK Government would ‘make changes very very soon’.
Campaigners and those with terminal illnesses don’t need more warm words from the government, they need the system to change. I’ll continue to hold ministers to account so that terminally ill people and their families can spend crucial time together instead of filling in endless forms, being dragged to assessments and fighting for the support they need.
