Today I had the pleasure of catching up with the team at Tata Steel UK Llanwern steelworks who make world class automotive steel for Jaguar LandRover, BMW & Nissan as well as steel for construction & more.

The state of the art facilities at the plant have received £40 million in investment to innovate over the past 7 years & include the amazing Automotive Finishing Line and Hot Coil Finishing developed with new technology & using the wealth of experience and knowledge from the workforce.

525 people plus contractors work at the plant and as UK Steel always point out for every steel job there are many more in the supply chain & wider community. Good to see Craig Phillips & team again plus to catch up with Community Union rep Reggie Gutteridge. As always in Parliament I’ll continue to work with fellow steel MPs of all parties to press this Government to do all it can to protect & create the conditions for this strategic industry to thrive.
