Jessica Morden MP in the House of Commons 21st October
Jessica Morden MP in the House of Commons 21st October

Today in Parliament, I asked the Leader of the House for MPs to be given an opportunity to challenge DWP ministers around the ongoing issues surrounding the claiming of State Pension.
In Newport East, several constituents have faced unnecessary difficulties when it comes to applying for and accessing their pension. My office and I are hearing from people who, despite applying well in advance of reaching their state pension age, are not receiving the money they are entitled to.
As a result of being sent incorrect forms and departmental delays, people have been without money they are owed for months. In some cases, constituents have been forced into living on food parcels, which is totally unacceptable.
In the house, the SNP also raised this issue resulting in the Leader of the House, Jacob Rees-Mogg, agreeing to take the matter up with the relevant ministers as a matter of urgency.

If you or a family member has been impacted by these problems at the DWP please get in touch with my office and we will help you where we can.
