A massive, massive round of applause needs to go out to each and every person involved in Saturday’s first Pride event.

It was just so wonderful to see Newport come together to create such a magical event, which was attended by people right across the city and further afield.

I had the immense pleasure of catching up with Newport’s own Martyn Butler, one of the founders of the Terrence Higgins Trust as well as so many other businesses and inspiring activists and campaigners.

Huge thanks to Adam, Andrew and Laura for all of their hard work, and to other amazing volunteers and groups, such as Newport Youth Council who led on the fantastic Youth Zone.

Here’s to next year’s event! I can’t wait.
