This year, the government has been nothing more than a quagmire of chaos; a mess beyond all belief, with ministers changing by the week, a revolving door on number 10 and money being wasted left, right and centre.

Today, in Parliament, I responded to the pre-recess adjournment debate on behalf of the opposition, reviewing the Government’s performance this year with my own Tory fail version of the 12 Days of Christmas.

This time at the dispatch box also gave me a chance to thank all those in Newport East, and across the UK who will be working this Christmas. There are so many wonderful groups in Newport East that will be supporting those in need over the festive season, and they, alongside our emergency service workers, nurses, doctors, the city’s social care staff and so many others deserve so much gratitude for everything they do, not only on Christmas Day, but right throughout the year. Thank you.
