Another blow to those impacted by the contaminated blood scandal was doled out last week when it was announced that the report from the inquiry into the Contaminated Blood Scandal has been delayed again.

People are dying every week while the government drags its feet, so on behalf of those in my constituency impacted by the scandal, I again urged the Minister to get on with setting up the compensation scheme, which is delayed without reason.

As the Chair of the inqury, Sir Brian Langstaff’s 2023 recommendations were clear. There’s no need to wait to start the compensation scheme for those affected and effected by the contaminated blood scandal. They just need to get on with it!
