I was pleased today to hear the Minister bring forward the regulations of the infected blood compensation scheme to the House so that the first payments to those infected can be administered.
Too much time has already passed for those infected and affected by this scandal and for those seeking justice for lost loved ones – like the Smiths from my constituency. It was reassuring to hear that the scheme is going to move swiftly – time is of the essence. I will continue to work with the Minister and The Smiths until we get to the end of this process. Justice for little Colin is long overdue.
