There’s a brilliant group of volunteers working away in Newport on a very exciting project, and on Saturday I was lucky enough to join them, along with Ruth.
On 2nd July, every female MP in Parliament will be presented with a personalised suffragette sash by the group Centenary Action, to mark the 97th anniversary of the equal franchise act.

Each of these 264 sashes is being handmade at Re:Make in Newport by a wonderful group of volunteer seamstresses, led by Lucie (aka The Welsh Stitch Witch). Together, they’re working tirelessly to complete the project, and on Saturday I was lucky enough to pop in with Ruth to help with the finishing touches to our sashes.
