As the Member of Parliament for Newport East, it’s my job to share your views with ministers and other organisations within our community, and to scrutinise them to ensure that promises are being delivered.

In Parliament I take every opportunity to raise the issues you bring to me, asking the questions you want me to, and always fighting for more for our city.

Unquestionably, Newport city centre is a hot topic with residents and businesses in my inbox, when I speak to them on the doorstep, and on the high street.

Whether it’s residents telling me about an event they’ve enjoyed or sharing concerns around safety and all that falls in between – both good and bad – it’s fair to say that nobody is afraid to express their views on what’s happening in the city centre – and I take these concerns – and praise – back to Newport City Council’s Leader, Cabinet members, Gwent Police, our city’s Senedd Members, and anyone else who needs to know.
