📝 Thank you to the 553 #NewportEast residents who took the time to sign the parliamentary petition on limiting the sale and use of fireworks to organisers of licensed displays, and the many others who have emailed me to highlight their concerns about the impact loud fireworks have on vulnerable people – including the elderly and those living with conditions like PTSD – and on animals.
🎆 I support the need for action to curb irresponsible and anti-social use of fireworks. This is something I’ve spoken about in Parliament previously – you can read my speech from the last parliamentary debate on the issue here:
🚨 I also want to take this opportunity to thank our emergency service workers for all their efforts over a busy bonfire weekend. We are all incredibly grateful for your work at what is always a challenging and very demanding time of the year. #Diolch.
